December Already??

by Leona Rose on 12/13/11

I can not believe it is already December.  School has been going well. Jada  has grown 14 inches this year and is getting a new wheelchair...Hot Pink with wheels that light up.  Jared is doing amazing in school.  Shaelyn is progressing well in her piano lessons.

I am floating from one moment to the next.  I stay busy with the children, as I should.  We have been playing lots of cards, and board games.  We say our family is "Gamers", but not the electrical kind:)  Johanna (my sista) and her Hubby came for a weekend, as well as Uncle Samir and Aunt Leigh.  We had a wonderful time.

Hope all is well with everyone!

A New Website Is Coming!!

by Leona Rose on 09/29/11

Jada has a new website coming.

It will still have a lot of the same information, but will be condensed.  It will be user friendly, still including her training manual. I will still use it when writing grants, training people about her care, and will have access to her medical/education records.

When you pull it up for the first time, it will look different.  Take a few moments to weave your way around so that you are familiar where to go next time you visit.  Thank you,

Leona--Jada's Mom

Jada Has The Flu

by Leona Rose on 09/29/11

Good Morning!  For those of you are wondering, Jada is not at school because she has the flu.  I appreciate all the calls.  She did have a seizure last night with the duration of 30 mins.  She did well breathing during the whole seizure.

As most of you know, when you are sick it is an inconvience.  However, when Jada gets sick it can be life threatening.  Just a reminder for all of us to wash our hands and stay clear of others if you may be sick.  Thank you  to all the first responders, medics, and hospital personnel that was so wonderful to her.  Thank you Seal Rock Fire for taking time to learn about Jada yesterday.  You all make a difference.

Jada Loves Kayaking

by Leona Rose on 08/25/11

Last Sunday we took the children on quite an adventure.  We decided to go kayaking.  So up the Alsea River we went with all the equipment needed to get us down the river safely...or so we thought.

Good news is, Jada did not tip. She squealed with excitement for an hour, totally loosing her voice by the next day.  The rest of us tried to keep up, flipped over, got stuck, etc.  But like I said, Mitch and Micah made sure the queen bee Jada never tipped.

She truly is loved.  Next time I think I should be escorted down the river safely. :) :)

" We take one day at a time. Our faith, family, and friends help us do the best we can in caring for Jada."
